Buyer/Purchaser
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITES Include, but are not limited to:
- Purchase materials and services for projects and service work orders as well as stock goods for branch location
- Collaborate with internal colleagues on order details to ensure products/services meet the expectation of customer requirements and deadlines set
- Verify best price and availability of products from trusted business partners and negotiate pricing when necessary
- Explore alternate materials when needed and obtain quotes when requested
- Collaborate with warehouse colleagues in other branch locations to confirm available stock and arrange inter-branch material transfers as needed
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with manufacturing and supplier partners
- Verify accuracy of received confirmations on purchase orders of quantity, cost, shipping address. Contact suppliers to resolve discrepancies
- Follow up on pending orders with confirmation, estimated shipping, tracking and other details. Escalate delayed orders when necessary
- Monitor vendor performance and make suggestions for improvement
- Review and assist Accounting with resolving invoice discrepancies
- Assist with quarterly/year end physical inventory at MSP branch location

- Work proactively and in a positive manner with colleagues
REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
- High School diploma, or equivalent education
- Previous experience in a purchasing role
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office products and computerized business systems as demonstrated by 1 or more years of experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Excel, as evidenced by 1 or more years of experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP platform
