*Please note, this is a 6x Month Contract position with the high possibility of extension to fulltime. This is an in-office position; office is located at Unit 1350, 355 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC. 

Due to continued business growth, we are looking to expand our Talent Acquisition Department! You will recruit various field positions to help support our Major Projects Team for British Columbia. You will be responsible for building a strong talent pipeline that increases our bench strength. As a brand ambassador, you will act to maximize employee engagement and development in areas of talent acquisition. You enjoy being creative and utilizing a wide variety of sourcing methods beyond postings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform full-cycle recruitment activities which includes formulation and execution of our talent acquisition strategy; intake meetings, candidate interviewing, providing talent acquisition best practices, advising hiring managers, understanding recruiting needs and job requirements, and conducting reference checks.
  • Develop and continuously improve the overall recruitment process, both internally and externally.
  • Source and manage candidate pools by identifying and approaching active and passive candidates through appropriate channels.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines through continuous sourcing and attending relevant industry conferences, professional group meetings, and other events to target top talent.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to include professional networking, direct sourcing, employee referral program, and social media to focus on a diverse pool of talent.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with candidates and hiring managers to achieve recruitment goals.  
  • Partner with department leaders to gain an understanding of the business drivers, objectives and regional challenges affecting talent acquisition.
  • Generate key hiring metrics and provide regular progress updates on search findings to management.
  • Facilitate follow-up meetings with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Participate in the development of the job evaluation process and work with managers to create job descriptions and postings.
  • Uphold confidentiality in the execution of the role.
  • Partner with the HR team to build and enhance our employer brand through the management of our Talent Community, Employee Value Proposition, and content creation.
  • Participates in HR related projects and/or performs other tasks as required 
  • In collaboration with the HR team, support employee communication and messaging to ensure that employees are familiar with the organization’s mission, goals, policies, and expectations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or a related field is preferred, or commensurate experience required.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience within Talent Acquisition (agency or inhouse) 
  • Extensive understanding of HR databases, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems as demonstrated by 3 or more years of experience
  • Strong experience working with sourcing platforms; LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed Resume Database, Juicebox and ZoomInfo
  • Advanced sourcing & headhunting techniques for uncovering candidates (through unconventional methods)
  • Deep understanding of industry trends, salary benchmarks and competitive landscapes within the construction and building automation field.
  • Detailed-oriented, accurate, thorough and takes extreme pride in work.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Recruiting for technical roles in the construction industry is preferred with an emphasis being placed on; Technicians (Senior, Lead & Service), Estimators, Project Coordinators and Project Managers
  • Foundational knowledge of employment laws and regulations across North America (including Canada & USA)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to deliver effective presentations to staff members.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS;

  • Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e., see, hear, speak, and write clearly), in English, in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers;
  • Manual dexterity required for all day computer work, occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to focus, at a computer, for extended periods of time.

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 DOE
