As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance related to payroll regulations and reporting requirements, and facilitate open communications with our HR, Finance and Operation departments. You will play a key role in working with the Payroll team to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementations.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Execute end-to-end payroll process to include the collection of timesheets (reviewed for accuracy and completeness), calculation of pay, and submission of cash transactions for net pay, various deductions, and payment of benefits.
  • Serve as a payroll “subject matter expert” addressing both internal and external inquiries related to payroll data and processes. Responses will be timely and professional, cognizant of the confidential nature of payroll data.
  • Support department productivity by reviewing all payroll processes and provide recommendations for improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedure documents to incorporate compliance, process improvements and systematic changes; ensuring clarity and consistency related to all payroll processes.
  • Assist and serve as liaison for UKG (Payroll Provider) in conjunction with the Payroll Manager and Human Resources when system modifications or corrections are needed.
  • Responsible for year-end tasks to include the review, reconciliation, and release of all W2 forms.
  • Support payroll colleagues in resolving complex issues; facilitate collaboration, and improved productivity within the department.

  • Work in compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures including safety manual, with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
  • Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal business hours as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of multi-state payroll experience, including in-depth knowledge of federal, state and local payroll tax regulations, garnishments, unions, prevailing wage and certified payrolls.
  • Functional understanding of unions, prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements as evidenced by previous work experience.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including use of v-look up formulas, creation, and use of pivot tables, running and creating functions and charts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Previous experience processing payroll for California-based employees
  • Familiarity with UKG (Pro and Ready)
  • Previous experience leading a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e., see, hear, speak, and write clearly), in English, in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers;
  • Manual dexterity required for all day computer work, occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Ability to focus, at a computer, for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate.

PAY: $85-105,000 Annually DOE
